When it comes to making the perfect brunch for family or friends I always consult with my friends at Lucky’s Burgers and Brew.
Lucky’s, a two time Atlanta Polo Brunch Festival Best Brunch Bite winner has some great ideas to serve a crowd and this particular one stop shop brunch item is all that you need to satisfy a hungry crowd! Don’t be discouraged by the size of the task at hand because this EIGHT POUND CHEESE BURGER is well worth the effort!!!!
So, if you are committed to the perfect brunch and are craving a delicious eight pound cheese burger – one that you and your guests can really sink your teeth into – here are the ingredients that you will need!
Ingredients:
- 4 pounds of 80/20 certified Angus ground beef
- 8 slices of American cheese
- 12 strips of applewood smoked bacon
- 7 fried eggs
- 1 pound of deep friend onion rings
- lots of mayonnaise
- 1.5 pound challah bun (sesame seeds optional)
Remember to follow these rules to ensure that you get the perfect burger:
- Try to handle the beef as little as possible, the more that you mash and push the beef together the more compressed and tough the final burger will be! Be gentle with that four pound patty!
- Prepare all of the ingredients to the individual best and keep them warm, so fry those eggs over easy and place in them in a warm oven until you are ready!
- Have the onion rings ready! I will usually buy these from my favorite fast food restaurant, I hate to deep fry onion rings at home. Try to have them delivered just in the nick of time, right when you are assembling the final burger.
- Fry the bacon until perfect and keep warm in the oven.
- Don’t forget to toast that bun! A one and a half pound bun will not fit in the toaster so use then oven. Don’t over toast, the bun is everything!
- Mayo, Mayo, Mayo!
- Have a selection of ketchup and gourmet mustard at the ready!
- Don’t forget to have lots of paper napkins available, in fact, I recommend a new roll of paper towel at the ready!
- Assemble all of the elements of this burger just before you invite your guests to the table. This will ensure deliciousness!!!
- If this seems like too much work, you can call Lucky’s Burgers and Brew and book at table at one of their locations and ask for the Grim Reaper!!!
Have fun and remember to wipe that mouth between bites!
