Misty Stallo was diagnosed on December 13th, 2014 with stage 3B ovarian cancer. “To say ovarian cancer is a silent killer is an understatement,” says Misty. She had just participated in a Half Ironman Triathlon ten weeks prior to her diagnosis. Always up for a challenge, Misty took on this disease and ten years later, she is still in remission. “I live a wonderful life,” says Misty, “diet and exercise are a focus.” Misty is a proud member of The Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance and a forever advocate for education and awareness indicatives on the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. Volunteer work with humans and animals are an important part of her daily life.

“GOCA is family. A place for support, not just for you, but for all those supporting you as well. The camaraderie within the organization is accepting and loving. An organization that offers mentoring, education, social activities or group events to meet your individual needs. You make friends for life. A sisterhood that is always there for you.”
